This is Marshall Johnston as a California Golden Seal. He was a good defenseman whose NHL career was made possible by the 1967 expansion draft.He is an even better scout, as his resume clearly shows. As a for instance, pretty much all of the famous NJ Devils were selected on his watch, and he was a major part of the Ottawa Senators success (along with getting a SC ring from the Hurricanes win in '06).
There is a wonderful article up this morning that serves as a reminder about just how much luck is involved in the game we all love.

ReplyDeleteputs it in perspective for the Oilers. Maybe this is a goo dlesson for the Oil, take unknown coke machines late in the draft, not the 2nd round.
