Ranked: 1 (ISS, Redline, Bob McKenzie)
Bob McKenzie: What else is there to say that hasn't already been said? Taylor Hall skates like the wind, absolutely fearless, takes the puck to the net with equal amounts of skill and recklessness and does nothing but score big goals and win hockey games and championships. What's not to like? The only concern, and it's a growing sentiment, is that Hall's fearlessness/recklessness puts him in harm's way too often and that he takes an incredible physical beating at the junior level, leaving himself vulnerable to big hits and potential injury. If he doesn't adjust his game in the NHL, some wonder if his frame, which isn't big by pro standards, will be able to stand up to the wear and tear. All that said, he's the prospect voted by scouts as most ready to step into the NHL.
Redline: Hall is the more dynamic and explosive game breaker and has shown a consistent (and rare) ability to elevate his game at the biggest moments on the biggest stage. That puts him in a special category that not many players occupy.
Director of Central Scouting E.J. McGuire: When you talk about Hall, you talk about quickness, acceleration and hands. Easily and arguably, could have actually been our No. 1 pick overall. Taylor has done it all; he's the reigning MVP of the Memorial Cup tournament and has played on two medal-winning world championship teams.
Windsor Spitfires head coach Bob Boughner: Taylor is a dynamic skater who is fearless when he goes to the net. He is very difficult to knock off the puck once he gets it and his hunger for the puck is special. He reminds me of Pavel Bure. Taylor’s desire to be the best is also very unique and has also contributed to his success, and made him the great player that he is.
Oilers instantly a young up and coming franchise.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Taylor and the Oilers. :)
ReplyDeleteall things being equal, i think he wanted to be in Edmonton more than Seguin and that may have been an important factor in his selection.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Edmonton Taylor Hall.
ReplyDeleteWhen does training camp start?
ReplyDeleteshould've taken the centerman. if you can't win the faceoff, you don't get the puck; if you don't get the puck, doesn't matter how many all-star wingers you have.
ReplyDeleteBest line so far? "I have to make the team first."
ReplyDeleteSomeone show him the depth chart.
LW goes from 27 + *tumbleweeds* to the strength of the team.
ReplyDeleteSo, what's Tambs going to do next? I seriously doubt he waits until 31.
ReplyDeleteBig day.
ReplyDeleteI'm now a Taylor Hall fan.
We've got a class player; woo!...can't wait to see wait Tambo has up his sleeve next
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Hall, Gagner, and Eberle kill the soft parade.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see wait Tambo has up his sleeve next
ReplyDeleteLet's hope it's not finish last again.
I don't think I could stand another season like last.
Wow, is Ballard really that good?
ReplyDeleteshould've taken the centerman. if you can't win the faceoff, you don't get the puck; if you don't get the puck, doesn't matter how many all-star wingers you have.
ReplyDeleteEven the worst centremen in the league win 40% of the time, plus faceoffs are not even close to the primary way that you gain puck possession.
Faceoffs are hugely, hugely overrated. Centres similarly overrated, and wingers criminally underrated.
Wingers are just as important as centres, maybe more so even.
I think the thing to watch now is how far McIlrath and Austin Watson fall. I would bet a 2-4 that he trades into round one but I'm already into it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think Taylor Hall will change the opinions of most of the Oil fans that felt he was the wrong choice.
ReplyDelete(crosses fingers he doesn't get his head caved in the first game)
Question: Who would you draft if given the choice of Maurice Richard or Jean Beliveau?
Congrats to Hall, now hopefully Tambellini can do some other nice things here.
ReplyDeleteWell Richard is dead, so I'll go with the center.
ReplyDeletePaajarvi, Horcoff, Hemsky
ReplyDeleteHall, Gagner, Eberle
Penner, Fraser, Brule
Jones, Pouliot, Stortini
Stone, Potulny
When you got two guys of equal talent and one is dead, you always go with the alive guy.
ReplyDelete"should've taken the centerman. if you can't win the faceoff, you don't get the puck; if you don't get the puck, doesn't matter how many all-star wingers you have."
ReplyDeleteseriously .. drafting based on face-off percentage?
1] players can learn to take nhl face-offs. it took Crosby a couple seasons to develop that skill.
2] you can put in a face-off specialist on important draws.
3] face-offs require skill but are also a crapshoot. the difference between a good face-off man or a bad one is winning an additional 1 or 2 out of every 10 draws.
4] Hall has shown himself to be aggressive going into the walls and winning puck battles and possession.
there are a lot of good arguments for taking Seguin but i'm not sure face-offs were a particularly important one.
I would bet a 2-4 that he trades into round one but I'm already into it. :-)
ReplyDeleteStrong bet, but not guaranteed like Hall going #1.
When you got two guys of equal talent and one is dead, you always go with the alive guy.
ReplyDeleteAlways? Even if the guy who's alive is JF Jacques?
I'd take Beliveau seeing as Richard is dead. BLPA.
ReplyDeleteTriple H line or ROTY line?
ReplyDeleteHow did the Oiler Nation crew, Edmonton Journal, Spector, etc., all get the call wrong on this?
ReplyDeleteApparently they all got "subtle" clues to the way the mag. bas. was leaning...or they all just copied their takes from each other.
Wingers are just as important as centres, maybe more so even.
ReplyDeletelol
Who's the fat kid with the 'fro?
ReplyDeleteBrian Burke.
ReplyDeleteI preferred the other guy, but I certainly don't think Hall's the wrong choice. He's a heck of a player.
ReplyDeleteI'm very much looking forward to seeing him with the Oilers next year.
Strong bet, but not guaranteed like Hall going #1.
ReplyDeleteThank you - please feed us tips from your imaginary connections as they come in.
(I should really learn to take my own advice.)
jiggy: I gotta pee, who are they taking?
ReplyDeleteI love the way my Richard vs Beliveau question went sideways.
ReplyDeleteI was naively thinking of the contrast in the style of those players being a comparison to todays 1 vs 2 (disclaimer: style contrast, not quality).
In conclusion, I would take Richard's bones before half of this decades Oiler picks.
hoil: Its not your fault. We're asses.
ReplyDeleteWith the brow sweat Tambellini looks like the homicidal Dad from American Beauty.
ReplyDeleteHoil - just kidding pal but maybe JB can answer, he's connected after all
ReplyDeleteGood pick.
ReplyDeleteSeguin might end up better, but Hall's raw speed makes him the better bet to be an offensive force.
LT: I was laughing my ass off over the answers myself. I can play the straight man if I have to...err, I mean be the straight man...frak.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you drinking, LT? I may have to start myself.
OK, Connolly jumped back into the running, his check-up must have been pretty good.
seriously .. drafting based on face-off percentage?
ReplyDeleteseriously.. not reading posts before commenting on them?
CLEARLY that was the only reason they should have taken Seguin. CLEARLY he offers nothing else.
lol
1] players can learn to take nhl face-offs. it took Crosby a couple seasons to develop that skill.
like Cogliano and Gagner?
2] you can put in a face-off specialist on important draws.
like Horcoff?
3] face-offs require skill but are also a crapshoot. the difference between a good face-off man or a bad one is winning an additional 1 or 2 out of every 10 draws.
have you ever watched a game of hockey?
lol
Lowetide is owning this thread so far.
ReplyDeleteMy wife looked up from her laptop for a Stevie Y sighting. She is all tingly now.
Dmen falling fast, McIlrath available in the 20's?
ReplyDeleteDamn, LT. You're killin me here. Hah.
ReplyDeletejiggy: I gotta pee, who are they taking?
ReplyDeleteHaha, who knows how high they'll trade up, if at all. Are you talking #31? Time will tell.
So who's going to be the slider this year?
ReplyDeleteWell, I think we've earned ouselves a beer.
ReplyDeleteCan we PLEASE trade up to steal Gormley?
ReplyDeletespeeds: Brandon Gormley is still available. I'd love to see him slide to the Oilers (when they trade Hemsky--that prick!) and he's sliding now as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think Granlund or Tarasenko would go top 5, Gormley sliding this far doesn't really surprise me, but Gormley AND Fowler sliding past 6 is a bit surprising.
ReplyDeleteA few months ago Fowler was a lock for 3rd OV and talked about as pushing Taylor/Tyler
ReplyDeleteI'm awake...what did I miss. Oh, nothing really. All the hype about major moves and stuff and I'm up to speed in 8 seconds.
ReplyDeleteDowner.
I wanted Seguin (would have been a gutsy call), but I wouldn't have had the balls to pull that call off on center stage. So, I would have called Hall too. Those clips from Rexall were pretty cool. Is there really nothing else to do on such a day in Edmonton?
Hope is here...at last!
Wasn't Atlanta looking to trade the 8th pick too?
ReplyDeleteSo LT, which pick does EDM trade up for to pick McIlrath with Granlund and Tarasenko still available?
ReplyDeleteMatt,
ReplyDeletePerhaps PJO knew more than everyone and Fowler really is a fudu?
WoodGuy
ReplyDeleteYou lost me at "PJO knew"
It's becoming clearer why so many teams were interested in moving down - the guys they wanted were lower ranked.
ReplyDeletespeeds: Well I want Gormley and then the Finn. Fowler would be fine.
ReplyDeleteBurmistrov hey?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like more teams are thinking like Carolina and the Oilogosphere on drafting defensemen in round #1.
ReplyDeleteWhere's David Poile when you need him?
Tambellini needs to call Sather rfn.
ReplyDeleteI think Rags will take Fowler now but who knows what these GMs are up to.
ReplyDeleteLT: Tambs is still assessing the Hall pick...
ReplyDeleteOilers have a severe lack of top drawer blue and there is a FLOCK of them right now.
ReplyDeleteMake a trade, Steve.
Souray and Cogs for the 10th and Rosival.
ReplyDeleteGo for it Steve!
"One thing you know when you pick Finnish players is that they bring work habits... serious work habits"
ReplyDelete- Pierre Maguire
Forgot the Niinimaki asterisk on this comment
Bustimaki owned.
ReplyDeleteThe next 3 teams up can all use d-men. Tambellini COULD earn his paycheck this week w/a bold move to jump up and get one of the available prospects.
ReplyDeleteI'd say a defining moment.
A strong muscular asterisk
ReplyDeleteSomebody better pick Jack Campbell before he gets to the Red Wings.
ReplyDeleteSmarmy - Cogliano couldn't get the 15th by himself. You figure adding Souray gets you 10th?
ReplyDeleteGood god Slats. Should have just traded the pick.
ReplyDelete......what?!
ReplyDeletemcilrath ahead of fowler?
Dlyan McIlrath is gone. Still a lot of talent available. Go Steve.
ReplyDeleteThere goes the brute...
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupid pick Sather. What's happened to you?
Whoa!!
ReplyDeleteBoy, guess I was way off on McIlrath, I kinda thought he wouldn't go as high as rumoured, instead he went higher than Gormley and Fowler.
WOW. McIlrath before Fowler and Gormley?
ReplyDeleteIf they could trade up and get Fowler it would be pretty amazing, but nobody seems to be buying what Tambellini is selling.
ReplyDeleteI want Tinordi for the rational reason of his physical attributes and scouting report, and the irrational reason of his lineage. His dad was exactly the kind of tough defenseman you would want.
Boy oh boy, did McIlrath climb the charts. Before Gormley AND Fowler? I can't believe it, but I agree with that leg-humper McGuire.
NHL GMs are literally the dumbest.
ReplyDeleteSlats is always the smartest man in the room.
ReplyDeleteLeague of Matt Millens.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I don't come down on Tambi as hard as others.
Well come the fuck on. The Hockey Gods are calling you, Steverino! Make a fucking trade!
ReplyDeleteA good d-man will still be there at 15. Can we go up and grab him?
ReplyDeletewow - really? Campbell?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember the last draft when 2 of the top 5 rated prospects dropped out of the top 10? Let alone looking like possibly the top 15?
ReplyDeleteI'm still not sold on spending picks on high-end D - they're UFAs by the time they've learned the NHL game. Let other teams develop them - their systems are better than ours anyway.
ReplyDeleteCampbell? Good goalie, but wowser.
ReplyDeleteAnaheim would be a good trading partner for us wouldn't they?
(please God, grant this or the lotto max tonight!)
I guess this means we really are picking Pickard...
ReplyDeleteThat's be interesting if FLA landed Gudbranson and one of Fowler/Gormley. Two pretty high quality D prospects to add to the team, though I guess they'll have lost Ballard and Bouwmeester within about a year.
ReplyDeleteYou can hear the disbelief and anger in Bobby Macs voice
ReplyDeleteAnd, once more, the Olli Jokinen trade will pay off for Oiler fans, especially considering how far those two D have fallen.
ReplyDeletePlus there's Watson. Oilers need to make a move into the middle part of this draft, really good value here.
ReplyDeleteYou know ANA is taking Fowler to replace Neidermeyer.
ReplyDeleteSurely any prospect except Eberle and MPS, and any roster player except Hemsky, Penner, Gagner, Whitney and Gilbert should be offered to move up?
ReplyDeleteEver seen a draft with zero trades on the floor, this late? Seems to me it's rare for no movement by this point...
ReplyDeleteEvery bit as good as Francois Beauchemin? You think so Pierre?
ReplyDeleteMarc: I'd add Hall to that list.
ReplyDeleteMan, trading up to get Watson seems kind of nuts to me.
ReplyDeletePierre is well into the wine now. Oilers must make a trade here. if you're looking to build and have a weakness like the blue in EDM, this is a Godsend.
ReplyDelete"CLEARLY that was the only reason they should have taken Seguin. CLEARLY he offers nothing else."
ReplyDeletewoah there mister anonymous.
i said "there are a lot of good arguments for taking Seguin but i'm not sure face-offs were a particularly important one."
conveniently the one thing i said you didn't quote.
and yes, i have watched a game of hockey. i've even watched oilers games too ; ]
Shaft19: Indeed. :)
ReplyDeleteLT: Are you willing to trade Hemsky and take a salary back to get your hands on it?
ReplyDeleteBecause I bet that's the asking price.
Mark-Ryan: No. I would not trade Hemsky.
ReplyDeleteMid round picks aren't close to being worth a quality roster player like Hemsky. A trade of #31 and a useful player/promising prospect that fills a need should be enough for moving up 10-12 spots.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty classy move right there.
ReplyDeleteForget moving into the first round. Start getting second rounders and pick first rounders.
ReplyDeleteSt. Louis has a reputation of being one of the real class organizations in the NHL. I've read many interviews with current and former players who rave about how well they are treated by the Blues.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is through multiple ownerships.

ReplyDeleteLooks like LA getting Florida's 15th pick? Wonder what they had to give up.
ReplyDelete15th for 19/59
ReplyDeleteFlorida trades 15 to LA for 19 and 59
ReplyDeleteDreger
No Hemsky? Man.
ReplyDeleteKings after Etem?
ReplyDeleteForbort/Pysyk/Tinordi are the d-men up for consideration.
ReplyDeleteKings move up into the Florida/Boston spot for 19 & 59. Reasonable deal to assure LA the guy they want.
It sure seems that teams want picks over players these days.
I haven't heard anyone even mention Pysyk yet. If he falls to 31, that would be a steal in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteLA takes Forbort.
ReplyDeleteSigh - giant upside.
Who's Murray talking to? Burke or Lowe?
ReplyDeleteThose LA gold/purple jerseys sure have more character than the black.
ReplyDeleteslash Tambellini I suppose.
ReplyDeleteSeems like teams are less willing willing to deal their draft picks and absorb another GMs unwanted salary.
ReplyDeleteHeh, I guess other GM's do talk to him after all.
ReplyDeleteWow, didn't see that Ottawa trade coming, that's a very good D prospect they sent to Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteWow great move St. Louis.
ReplyDeleteWell, there goes Tarasenko.
ReplyDeleteDAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN...there goes the Tarasenko hope.
ReplyDeleteWe coulda done better than Rundblad couldn't we?
Tarasenko's sister is a rocket!
ReplyDeleteWake up Steve!!
ReplyDeleteTambellini, making the safe move (fortunately it's also the smart move in this case) and then sitting on his hands? Wow, there's a shocker.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky are Dallas and Anaheim, both filling huge needs with the #1 prospects at their positions? Especially the Ducks having Fowler fall to them at 12.
Sather taking McIlrath has me immediately thinking he's the 2nd coming of Nick Stajduhar. Wait, that's petty. McIlraith will be the next Francois Leroux :)
Yeah, that's a trade I'd do, Runblad for Tarasenko. If I'm Murray I doubt I'd do that trade. Kid is easily top 3 if he's not Russian.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping the Oilers would move up and grab him. The sliders Connolly, Tarasenko, and Schwartz are all gone. That only leaves Kabanov and I sure hope the Oilers grab him with Nashville's pick.
Interesting to see where Austin Watson goes.
The Oilers aren't going to take a Russian. I like Howden but at this point the only player I see worth trading up for is Watson.
ReplyDeleteSteve can't really do anything right now. #31 is too far away and nobody seems to want to trade a mid-first pick for salary.
ReplyDeleteWould you trade MPS or Eberle for that pick?
Gregor (?) I think said they offered Cogliano to Ottawa for #15 and Ott said no thanks.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
I hope you're wrong LT, because Kabanov is the only top 10 talent that will be available after the first round. I dearly hope they get him with Nashville's 2nd.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see LT, if Kuznetsov slides a bit I wouldn't be shocked if they took him.
ReplyDeleteHishon. Man this draft is cracking wide open. speeds? Where'd you have him?
ReplyDeleteWhere'd you have Hishon LT? He wasn't in your 31
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome, Pierre MacGuire sedate. I guess he doesn't like lucky Joey haha.
ReplyDeletelol, good stuff LT ;)
ReplyDeleteI had him 40-50, somewhere, probably closer to 50
What?!?
ReplyDeleteOur best strategy may be to hold on to the 31 pick because at this rate there is bound to be a good player there.
McKenzie had him at 51.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletespeeds: lol. I honestly didn't have him on my list of possibles (which was about 40 deep during the season).
ReplyDeleteMadness.
NHL Central Scouting: 55 NAS, International Scouting Services: No. 46, The Hockey News: No. 39
ReplyDeleteI guess the more guys that go "off the board" ahead of 31, the better, but it also means it's more likely we'll complain when they take someone we don't like at 31, since there will be more guys we do like avail at 31 than we'd have thought?
ReplyDeleteMakes one wonder why Colorado didn't trade down in picks; unless they knew someone else was interested.
ReplyDeleteHishon would have been in that range if not for injuries.
ReplyDelete80 points as a 16/17 year old.
NOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteDamn, there goes the last coveted 1st round player.
I guess the Oilers could take a stab at Kabanov.
ReplyDeleteAnd with Hishon going 17th I won a prize from ITG.
At this point, I think the opportunity is gone for Steve. I think the Oilers need to have another look at their values chart because other teams were able to make moves in the 10-20 range.
ReplyDeleteOne team had a pick in the range and another gave up a quality prospect. It can be done, but not by the Oilers for pretty much a decade running now.
I love Burkies "We could have" grumps. Classic.
ReplyDeleteGod I dislike Burke...
ReplyDeleteWish the Oilers could have snagged a second pick in the first round, but not surprised they didn't, or couldn't.
LT - Do you think he lost any ground on those mid round picks while he was chasing the Bruins for the 2nd?
ReplyDeletemore likely we'll complain when they take someone we don't like at 31, since there will be more guys we do like avail at 31 than we'd have thought?
ReplyDeleteKinda like people complaining Tambellini does nothing, when in reality, they'd absolutely hate what would have been given up to get some deals done.
Ribs, I think Tambs tried everything he could, but didn't like anything out there.
ReplyDeleteIf only they could have flipped Cogs & Nash for 16th. I'd have done that easy for Tarasenko or Watson.
Ribs: Nah. I think a lot of this comes down to a team wanting something else. Rundblad is a helluva player, that was a great deal for Ottawa imo.
ReplyDeleteAnd the other team got the 16th pick but gave up the 19th overall. Oilers weren't in the game I suspect.
Still, I like to bitch. :-)
Guess the top 17 was even more clear than I thought - the guys in my top 17 are all gone by pick 19, except Russian Kuznetsov.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder it felt, at times, like I was just shuffling the same deck chairs as everyone else.
LT: I'm not sure he had the ammunition, based on the deals we saw. Moving down four spots cost a late second round pick, so our seconds probably weren't enough to get into the middle.
ReplyDeleteOttawa got the third best prospect from HF's third ranked organisation, who was a offensive dman, so Petry probably wasn't good enough and Nash wasn't what was needed.
If teams aren't biting on our roster players and we're holding on to Eberle and MPS, what exactly are do we have to offer that another team might think is better thn the player they can get with the pick?
Yea, I guess they don't really have much to trade as far as prospects/up and coming talent goes. Cogliano's probably as good as it gets.
ReplyDeleteKind of surprised Bjugstad didn't go a little bit earlier, sometimes someone grabs a player like that a bit earlier than expected.
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would just pick Pickard so we can get someone else.
ReplyDeleteYea, I guess they don't really have much to trade as far as prospects/up and coming talent goes. Cogliano's probably as good as it gets.
ReplyDeleteThat is with the thinking that MPS and Eberle are untouchable.
Fingers crossed, Pysyk or Tinordi will slide to the Oil at 31.
ReplyDeleteIn the 1970s, Clarence Campbell (the old timey Bettman) used to call out the names of the picks instead of the GMs.
ReplyDeleteOne season, the Sabres drafted a player named Butch Deadmarsh. Campbell (legend has it) announced "Buffalo selects (pause because he forgot his name)...is the boy's name is Dead?"
He died 36 hours later.
ReplyDelete...Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteGot to admit, I kinda thought this was going to be an EDM trade up when I heard it was for 22 + a 4th, for both 2nds. Pretty similar value, 31 and 48 vs. 27 and 57(?).
ReplyDeleteAny chance Mark Pysyk falls to 31?
ReplyDeleteif MPS and Eberle are untouchable they could try Omark + later pick.
ReplyDeleteRick:
ReplyDeleteSure, there's only 8 picks to go.
I think Vancouver will void their trade and take Pysyk if he's there.
ReplyDeleteJohn McFarland possibly going to be around. Anyone see much of him over the past couple years? He was #6 at one point.
ReplyDeletePysyk, Kabanov, Weal with the next 3 Oil picks would make me quite happy =).
ReplyDeleteAt this point it makes sense imo to wait on the 31st overall. There are some fallers (I have Howden, Etem, Kuznetsov, Pitlick, Toffoli, Nelson, Ross, Pickard,Spooner, Coyle, McFarland still left on my top 30. Plus Pysyk at 31.
ReplyDeleteRoss would certainly be of interest to EDM at 31, as would Pysyk (probably). speeds thinks they might try for Kuznetsov if he falls and Howden is well thought of too.
Might as well wait.
striatic - I don't think Omark is worth much at this point. Maybe if he does well this year on the NHL club his stock goes up.
ReplyDeleteFrom the moves that have been made so far, it doesn't appear that you can fault Tambellini for not making a move to get another 1st rounder. He didn't have a blue chip D prospect like Runblad or starting D-man like Ballard or a first rounder to swap like Montreal.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like no one wants underachieving smurf forwards? Supply and demand is killing us. Go figure.
Darn.
ReplyDeleteGood for the kid. A long time since Phil Russell, nice to see the Oil Kings represent again.
ReplyDeleteRick:
ReplyDeleteDon't listen to me. That's pretty funny, he goes with the next pick.
A long time since Phil Russell, nice to see the Oil Kings represent again.
ReplyDeleteWhat, Cam Abney isn't representing?
Taylor Hall point predictions? 50?
ReplyDeleteAbney wasn't an Oil King when he was drafted.
ReplyDeleteWhat time does the second round start tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteAt least two first round rated players will be available for the Oil now...
ReplyDeletespeeds: 11am our time I believe.
ReplyDeleteWay this first round has gone the Oilers will get another consensous first rounder. Good night.
ReplyDeleteGood trade for Vancouver, if they could get Hamhuis too that would be a very nice upgrade.
ReplyDeleteTrade seems good for both.
ReplyDeleteWHL did well again this season. Helluva league.
ReplyDeleteI think whatever Abney's representing has enough representatives.
ReplyDeleteWell, who didn't see that coming?
ReplyDeleteEtem continues to slide. He's starting to look like Landon Ferraro from last year. Would think the Oil would be ecstatic to see this Centreman still there at 31 if it happens...
ReplyDeleteI think too many teams read Remmerde's take on Etem.
ReplyDeleteSo who's left?
ReplyDeleteEtem, Pitlick, Sheahan, MacFarland, Merrill, Petrovic, Pickard, and of course Kabanov
Great pick by Washington. The one team that can count on Russians wanting to play for is the Ovechkins.
ReplyDeleteRick: Sheahan went to DET.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm disappointed to say the least. Check in at the end of the day and Tambellini did nothing other than the minimum that could be expected from 29 other GMs.
ReplyDeleteGood ole' Stuttering Steve.
On the topic at hand, I am pleased at the Hall selection and surprised that Boston didn't make any moves.
Visentin is an interesting pick this early, he's a guy I thought EDM might take a crack at if the wanted a goalie at 61.
ReplyDeletePretty young draftee, born in August 92.
Ross
ReplyDeleteToffolli
Petrovic
Well if they moved up now Etem would be the reason. Unless Tambo heard "goalie" and thought Pickard was gone.
ReplyDeletePHX must have thought he wouldn't last until 52, or have thought someone was going to snap him up relatively soon.
ReplyDelete
