Taylor Chorney (in photo, in Blues uniform) and Colten Teubert were recalled by the Edmonton Oilers in time for tomorrow night's game against the Hawks. Andy Sutton and Corey Potter were to have MRI's today and we should know more by game time, but I'd guess that both of the new hires play tomorrow night.
Ryan Whitney is apparently getting closer, and that should be the item Oiler fans hold onto tightly. The truth is that beyond the Smid-Gilbert pairing it's a crapshoot. Chicago, with their skilled and fleet forward group, are poised to place a righteous beating on the men from Edmonton in the HNIC game.

the best we could hope for is the Hawks tire themselves out with a good old fashioned whopping of the Flames tonight ...
ReplyDeleteOne can always hope.
Another 2G for Tobias through less than 2 periods. Will he be jumping a couple slots on your top 20 LT?
ReplyDeleteI'm actually just putting the finishing touches on the list. Things could change, but it's a significant climb for Rieder.
ReplyDeleteStu has had some spectacular flame outs in the middle late/rounds but he has also found some real gems. Nice to see.
ReplyDeletespectacular flame outs in the middle late/rounds
ReplyDeleteI think those are called "average draft picks in later rounds"
Nelson- no such thing as failures with mid to late picks. Most will fail to make the NHL. Some will totally fall apart (ussually the high risk-high reward types).
ReplyDeleteI'll be curious to see where, if at all, Cornet slots.
ReplyDeleteHe's scored his 12th tonight, OKC up 3-1 after 2.
BURN THEM ALLLLLLL!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat, Hawks will be even more motivated tomorrow: 5-2 Flames and Toews is pissed.
ReplyDeleteTuebert surpased expectations during his cup of coffee. Looking forward to see how he does with increased icetime and quality of comp.
ReplyDeleteI've decided to focus on the development of the young guys rather than W and Ls for the next couple weeks. I don't want my level of give a sh*t to drop to where it was last year.
does it bother anybody else here that Glencross has twice as many goals as Taylor Hall, when he is exactly the type of player the Oilers need in their top nine as a gritty winger with speed who can actually shoot the puck with some accuracy?
ReplyDeleteOne thing I am disappointed in with Hall is that even though he has a quick release and a hard shot, it doesn't seem to have too much accuracy like Stamkos or even Eberle. Hell last night 4 of the goals were highlight reel goals by a few players I have never heard of but a guy who was the first overall pick doesn't have one wicked wrist highlight in 80 games?
I wonder if he practices his shots in practice, he seems to miss those quick release shots he is aiming for the corners with, for now anyways...RNH seems to have a better shot if accuracy comes into the equation.
Should have drafted Glencross.

We could have but we were beluga hunting at the time.

ReplyDeleteHemsky?
Hemsky?
ReplyDeleteNo, Shay Stephenson. Obviously.
Right.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't a great draft for the Oilers, was it? Though Doug Lynch turned out okay for us, I suppose.

ReplyDeleteIt bugs me about as much as Kyle Wellwood having twice as many goals as Hall right now...Very little.

Forgot which version of Moby Dick we were chasing while frittering away the Glencross negotiations Steve?

ReplyDeleteI don't think the word "draft" means what you think it means.
Did I do it right?
