Tyler Dellow over at mc79 hockey has a new project and there's an opportunity available to help out and be a part of the results.
I'm not certain of what will be tracked, but this should be impressive information. If you can afford the time, I'm certain you'll get a lot out of it.
This is completely off topic: I was watching the Cardinals/Brewers game last night, and I saw a guy wearing an Oilers jersey trying to catch a foul ball in right field. Thought that was kind of unusual.
In the late '90s Oilers jerseys were all the rage in cities like NYC, Washington and Philadelphia. Not so much because of hockey, but the Oilers had a reputation as being a black hockey team at the time. Well, or the blackest hockey team there had ever been up to that moment.
I figured this out in one of the more awkward ways, going up to some big black guy in a bar in NY. He was wearing an Oilers jersey and I asked him if he was from Edmonton. He had never heard of the town in his life, thought I was a weirdo (or likely gay) and the conversation ended there...
LT, any chance you can put up a temp blog post asking for someone to help with the blog export/import? Ask them to email me directly, and I'll handle it from there.
We need someone to:
Break up the 300MB XML archive into smaller segments. Convert the blogger XML segments to WXR. Minor wordpress tweaks. Import WXR files into wordpress.

Now that I think of it, he probably thought it was a Houston Oilers jersey.

Danny, there are a few XML splitter/WXR converters out there, or you can write one fairly easily in VB if none of the ones out there suit your needs.

I'd volunteer my time if:

B) I trusted myself to watch the Oilers in a dispassionate manner.
I still haven't managed to get the hang of the latter part after all these years.
It's a great idea by Ty though. It was somewhat funny to see his threads shutdown over at HF. Can't see any rational reason why they might do that.
