I also loved Bruce and the E street band. Was scared shtless that Bruce died when I saw this. Losing Clarence is bad enough but Springsteen is to my teenage years what the Stones are to yours LT.
As a teen I so loved belting out "Born to Run" It was one of the first albums I really fell in love with the loss of Mr. Clemon`s is truly a major loss to the music world. May you rest in peace Mr Clemon`s.
Loved Born to Run. I can still remember hearing Thunder Road for the first time. What a great, great album. I don't try to sing Backstreets like the Boss anymore but there was a time when I'd scream that puppy out just like him (except for the talent part).
Going to a Springsteen show is about as close to a church revival that I'm going to get. The emotional level from the band and from the audience is so enormous. Clarence Clemons was a huge part of that.
Clarence Clemons played the hell out of the saxaphone. The passion he played with was the perfect match to the emotion in Springsteen's voice. He made a lot of us fans of the instrument. When I was young, I wore out their albums on my cheap turntables.
That's sad-I was never a big Springsteen fan but the E-street band could play.

ReplyDeleteClarence Clemon`s performance in Jungleland is one of my favourite sax solos of all time - if not the favourite.

Not overly familiar with him but do have Friend of Mine MP3. The video with Jackson Brown and Daryl Hannah a little creepy but good tune....
